Monsters
We have all heard of monsters we grow up from a young age hearing of monsters and I don't mean cartoon ones I mean people who are nothing but monsters they start off just being in trouble with the law minor offenses, but graduate to serious offenses which aren't just harmful to the victims but to every person just like their victims these people have gone from being criminals to outright monsters.
Today I am going to tell you a story this is about a boy named Vernon Neil Bugden who came from a split home, grew up in a small little country town went to the small wee country high school who at 16 started to get into trouble with the law, includes but not limited to; violence, driving offending, dishonesty, possession of an offensive weapon, making/copying/ supplying objectionable publications, contravention of protection order an non compliance with community based senteneces. He has violence against women in 2003 including assault, assaulting a woman, injuring, and
wounding, as well as a conviction for doing an indecent act. Some of his
violence involved three other former partners.
In 2011, he was convicted of wounding with intent to injure and was sentenced to two years, eight months’ imprisonment. While in jail he started doing work release a severe oversight on corrections behalf as we would later find out in 2015
He continued to control the victim from prison, he constantly phoned her, he did not allow her to socialise with her workmates, and while he was on release to work he made her visit him. They had consensual sex; she provided him with food and a cellphone.” In 2014 they had a fight and as she was trying to leave he grabbed her threw her into the back seat of the car and raped her vaginally and anally and afterwards said to her see you do love me 😑
In 2015 he was jailed for nine years for three charges of sexual violation and one of rape which related to the same victim. She read her victim impact statement out in the court he was told by the judge under the three strikes law back then that there was no chance of early paraole or release and he was to serve the full sentence.
In July 2023 he was released from prison after serving the entirety of his sentence without parole as he was subject to the three strikes law.
On August 31 2023, the defendant was driving in Dee St and saw the victim in her car with her son and friend.
Bugden swerved into the victim’s lane beside her. She took evasive action to avoid crashing. She was so shaken by the incident that she drove straight home.
This is a guy that doesn't take no for an answer doesn't like being rejected but also doesn't get the concept that what he is doing is just plain narcissistic and selfish he doesn't care about his victims he's all out for himself he doesn't care who he hurts as long as he gets what he wants - I know of one previous victim of his that went on the run, when he went to jail she got the hell out of the country she hasn't been back he violence towards women is deep seated in his need to control and dominate and get what he wants he doesn't like the idea of women being in control or having any control, his need to scare and intimidate and put the fear of whether they live or not into their lives gives him power, women that aren't afraid of him, women that fight back and stand their ground those aren't the women he wants he can't control them he can't intimidate them he can't harm them cos they can't defend themselves they are strong independent women.
In September 2023, Bugden and the victim had been communicating over Facebook despite him being barred from doing so.
On September 12 2023 the defendant sent the woman sexual and abusive voice messages.
The victim told him to “go away” but he continued the tirade.
The sexual messages continued for days, including Bugden sending an explicit photo of himself. ( That's jus gross) 😑
On September 14 2023, the woman messaged the defendant saying “don’t ever contact me again”.
The next day he attempted to video-call her multiple times, which she ignored. Eventually she told him she was going to police, to which he replied: “I’m going to do more than rape you this time.” ( This right here is his way of inciting absolute fear into the victim in the hopes that she won't go to the police )
He relentlessly pursued the victim just putting fear into her life, fear that she didn't need, fear that wasn't asked for, fear that he was goin to find her and harm her and her kids this is a guy that is nothing more than a monster, he's no longer human he's doing everything possible to hunt, and retraumatise his victim all because he gets pleasure out of it he enjoys the hunt and he game knowing he has the power and the control. He only got out cos someone supporting him gave him somewhere to stay, I know that church folks think that supporting someone from the prison especially someone they once knew who has told them a bunch of lies about how they want to change and that they are going to be different think they can help them - news flash you can't he crossed the line a long time ago there is no coming back to the other side he isn't going to give up on what he is doing instead of church folks supporting and helping a person like that support and help the victims they are the ones who need it the most, if you can move a victim and hide them so they can live their lives in peace and with their kids knowing they aren't going to be hunted like prey for their perps sick pleasure then do that I would rather a victim gets freedom and peace than a perp gets to hunt his victim.
At a parole hearing, the board said there had been “a disturbing history of control and isolation imposed on the victim by Mr Bugden"
Isolation is one of the key ingredients a controlling obsessive person needs they can't control you if you have friends if you surround yourself with other people, they can't control you if you disconnect from them permanently. If the person is contacting you thru Facebook you have a choice to block them, do that do not engage with them, ignore them, surround yourself with people have someone else with you at all times, have your phone handy to be able to call the police or 111 should you need to, obtain a self defense keychain they have a personal alarm that will make them deaf, make your own pepper spray everything is worth it to protect yourself, take self defense classes, even martial arts classes they will all help you gain your confidence and strength back - you have a right to feel safe, you have a right to drive down your street without wondering if you are being hunted or chased or if he is waiting for you, keep all doors in your car locked even if you are sitting at the lights you never know, keep a fire extinguisher in your car ( trust me it's not just to put out fires ) 😎
A report said Bugden had a number of incidents and misconduct in prison and had limited rehabilitation while inside.
Corrections is seeking an extended supervision order — a measure used to monitor and manage only the most high-risk offenders for up to 10 years.
In November 2023 Vernon Neil Bugden, 43, was sentenced in the Invercargill District Court last week over two breaches of a protection order and two breaches of release conditions.Judge Thomas Ingram sentenced Bugden to 21 months’ imprisonment and disqualified him from driving for six months.
So he will not be released again til August 2025 that will give the victim time to obtain all the self defense stuff she will need and the streets are safe again for awhile. Personally I don't think he be released I do believe he should be banned from ever entering the southland region if he can't get into the region then the victim is safe, definitely no digital communication should ever be allowed Vernon is clearly mentally not right in the head, he is a danger to any woman that is weaker, any woman that falls for his charm. Monsters deserve to be locked away for the rest of their lives they are a danger to anyone outside the fence, they don't change they dont believe they are the problem, they believe that society owes them and they are going to just take what they want and not care about who they hurt .
